Pastor Nick,

those folks on the left side of the board will regret being ashamed of the gospel and of the cross. Even the greatest commandment is ignored. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the almighty God for all the wrong reasons. Some folks will come to a final realization: God is not seeker-friendly as those self-seeking people would have Him to be. We at WSBC are seekers: we seek to glorify Him;to exalt Him;to magnify Him. We seek to know Him better. We seek His will for our lives. We seek Him while he may be found. We seek to honor Him in all that we say and do. Ray

Thank you for this list. I heard them in your sermon and couldn't write them all down fast enough.

And, as you were reading these words that day during your sermon, the word, "Ichabod" came to mind about the left-sided board. Amazing.

God is not finished with me yet, Pastor Nick. Keep preaching the gospel!
Love, Cecelia

He give and takes away, he lays down his life and takes it back up agian, blessed be the name of Jesus, the crushed.

I've read of Polycarp before but it was refreshing to hear of his story once again. Infact im at work an im trying not to cry infront of my coworkers. How many times have i sold out Christ? Shevi, it's just words, "Ceasar is Lord." Lord, forgive me for selling you out, 20 years have I served you, and you've never did me any injury: how then can I blaspheme my King and my Savior?

...and Jesus asked the Father a question that we will never have to:"my God,my God, why have you forsaken me?" Crushed in His humanity, the Son suffered the momentary loss or interruption of the flow of love from the Father. Jesus paid it all, suffered and bled, died and rose again so that we may be assured of many promises, one of which is that our heavenly Father will never leave us nor forsake us. Ray

Good Morning Nick,
Ever since you preached on Isaiah 53:3-10 and challenged us to memorize Scripture, I have worked on this passage. It has taken me about a month and a half to memorize versus 3-6. I am very slow with this, I am getting older, but I also want it to be correct when receited.

This Christmas has such a different meaning this year. When we view this time from the sight of the cross, it is much more clear. Jesus is our propitiation, we cannot do this for ourselves. Hallelujah, I am saved by His stipes. He was obedient unto death on the cross for you and me. We should celebrate His birth, but also realize why He was born.
Jesus was born in a manger, not in a beautiful palace, He lived as a servant, not as a king. He was scorned and scourged as a common criminal (even worse). His death was the most terrible recorded in history. Yet, He went to the cross for us, to save us, to love us, to open the door for us to be adopted into His family. "By His stripes we are saved".
How much more could anyone want? Our society has spoiled us and conditioned us to want more and more. We have allowed a few to change the real reason for the season, into a time to see how much stuff we can get.Why do we think we need anything else when we have the greatest gift of all, Jesus Christ!
I was in the prayer room yesterday 12/16 and did not hear your sermon. I plan to download it today. But, I know that God is always with us, but yeaterday His presence was heavy in the church. The holy Spirit is definitely working in this church. What a wonderful feeling it is!
Nick, I want to take this opportunity to thank you for showing me the true meaning of Christmas. Showing me that we must see this time by also seeing the Cross. The connection is a must to understand the reason for the season. I do not think of you as the "Grinch", I know you as a man of God, one who is not ashamed of the Gospel. Thank you for revealing the Truth to this congregation. Also thank Gretchen for me, her love for the Lord is evident in her desire to praise the Lord. She says she has the best view in the Church, she see our faces and praises. I say we also have a great view, we see her and her praise; thus we are inspired by her. Thank you, to both of yor, for loving the Lord and teaching this congregation the Truth.
It is time for me to quit rambling and go to work. I love you both.

Pastor Nick,

allow me to be at my most eloquent in response:WOW!!!!!!!!!
It has been a while since you posted, but the wait was surely worthwhile.
The Father knows His children. He knows their names, their needs and desires, their fragrance, their limitions so far as trials and temptations are concerned.
What a beautiful math: the more we sacrifice of our lives, our resources, time, and talents, the more He gives us of His bounty. I'd say that this equation always tips in our favor. Here's a formula that we believers are familiar with:better is one day in His house, better is one day in His courts, than thousands elsewhere.
He gives and takes away,He gives and takes away. My heart will choose to say:blessed be the name of the Lord!!

Reading the words to that hymn bring tears to my eyes-tears from my heart! I am overtaken with emotion with the magnitude of what the blood of Christ has done for our eternal salvation. By obeying and never wavering from what God has instructed us through His word to our congregation each and every service should encourage each one of us to realize the meaning of true worship. We must focus and boast on the cross each and every day. Our Jesus paved the way for eternal fellowship with Him and with one another. Celebrate Him, rejoice in Him, live for Him, plead for Him and be glad! Soli Deo Gloria.

Perfect Peace

Always refuse to think on things that are contrary to the Word of God. We can contribute many of our troubles to the way that we think, sometimes our minds get so carried away in all manner of thoughts, and we find ourselves thinking on things which can be quite disturbing. For when this happens we must resist by “Casting down all imaginations and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ,” as it is written in,
                                                                              {2 Corinthians 10 v 5}.

If we replace our thoughts with the name of Jesus and the blood of Jesus, you will find that by speaking His name and blood over your thoughts that you will experience great refreshing times from the Lord, as He clears your mind. Always try to think on good things, do not listen to things on the television, or read papers and books which will cause you to loose your peace which is in Christ Jesus. Another great way of keeping your mind at peace is to forget those bad things that have happened to you in the past,
and exchanging them for the good promises that God has for you in the future. Paul said “But this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before”.

Finally Saints what ever thing that is true, honest, just, pure, lovely and good , think on these things “And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus”,
{Philippians 4 v 7}. I do hope that this letter will bring peace to your minds, for it is written, in Isaiah 26 v 3, “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is staid on thee.”
                      JESUS
